It is claimed that the single-stand plate mill will withstand a maximum roll separating force of 60,000 kN. Danieli claims that it will use the most modern technological features, to produce high-quality plates with defect-free surfaces.
Plate treatment and finishing facilities will consist of a dividing crop shear, plate leveller, roller hearth furnace and continuous roller pressure-quenching machine.
The leveller will operate with 11 rolls, suitable for processing plates ranging from 5mm to 50mm thickness in hot and cold conditions.
Electrical and automation systems for the entire plate mill complex will be supplied by Danieli Automation. Reheating and heat treatment plants will come from Danieli Centro Combustion.
Production of the first plates is scheduled for the second half of 2019.
